The Brisbane Ranges National Park is the state's most spectacular wildflower habitat, with its rich flora comprising 619 native plant species. Wildflower displays include grevillias, hakeas, wattles, bush peas and orchids.

Its wildlife haven includes Eastern Grey kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, koalas, plus 180 bird species - peregrine falcon, rainbow bird, powerful owl, yellow-tufted honeyeater, and white-throated nightjar to name just a few.

The Bacchus Marsh Heritage Trail comprises 17 sites which provide an insight into the town's history, including the Avenue of Honour - lined by hundreds of elm, oak and plane trees planted to honour those who served in World War I.

Other town attractions include the Tudor-style Border Inn, historic Courthouse, the Blacksmith's Cottage, Maddingley Park and a number of churches dating back to the 1800s.

Moorabool Shire Council offers high quality sporting facilities including the Bacchus Marsh Leisure Centre, the Bacchus Marsh and Ballan swimming pools, and the epic adventure playground at Maddingley Park adjoining the lawn tennis, football and cricket arenas.
